Consulting services

Five areas of advice — and nothing we do not do.

Everything we offer is advice. We assess how your server operations run, design the roadmap and framework, and hand it to your team. Implementation and day-to-day operation stay with you.

Service 01

Process mapping on a whiteboard during a workshop (illustrative).

Operations Maturity Assessment

Reviews your server operations — processes, team capabilities and tooling — to identify gaps and bottlenecks.

What we look at

  • How work actually flows between teams, tools and handovers
  • What is documented, and what only exists in people’s heads
  • Where the same failure is being solved differently each time

What you receive

A written gap register, ordered by operational impact.

Service 02

Blank process cards pinned to a dark wall, linked by thin tape lines
Change flow laid out on cards (illustrative).

Improvement Roadmap Planning

Develops phased roadmaps that guide a team from reactive firefighting towards proactive and automated operations.

What we look at

  • Which improvements depend on others, and which can start now
  • What is realistic for the team you have today
  • Where automation removes effort rather than adding tooling

What you receive

A phased roadmap with sequence, owners and dependencies.

Service 03

Printed abstract area chart on a desk beside an open laptop
Capacity trends reviewed on paper (illustrative).

Operations Framework Design

Helps design server operations team structures and standardised processes, including change management, monitoring and alert handling, incident response, and capacity planning.

What we look at

  • How changes are recorded and approved
  • How alerts reach a person who can act on them
  • How incidents are escalated, and how they are closed out
  • How capacity is reviewed before it becomes an incident

What you receive

An operating model and process definitions your team can run.

Service 04

Storage array and external drives on a rack shelf with tidy cabling
Backup and storage hardware (illustrative).

Technical Strategy and Optimisation

Advises on monitoring and alerting strategy, automation of repetitive tasks, and performance and capacity planning.

What we look at

  • Which metrics matter, and which alerts should be deleted
  • Which routine tasks are worth automating, and which are not
  • Where performance headroom is actually needed

What you receive

A monitoring and alerting strategy, and a shortlist of automation candidates.

Service 05

Close view of a keycard reader beside a locked rack door
Physical access control at the rack door (illustrative).

Continuity and Risk Control

Provides consulting on backup and disaster recovery strategy, plus server-level security and compliance, including baseline configuration, vulnerability priorities, and access control.

What we look at

  • What can be restored, how quickly in practice, and how often that is tested
  • Which baseline settings deviate from a defensible standard
  • Who has access, and whether that is still justified

What you receive

Continuity advice, baseline configuration priorities and access-control findings.

Next step

Not sure which of these you need?

Most engagements start with the maturity assessment. Tell us the size of the estate and what hurts most, and we will confirm in writing whether an assessment is the right first step.

Boundaries

What we do not do

Our advice has to be independent to be worth paying for. That means we stay out of the parts of the business that would compromise it.

  • We do not resell hardware, licences or managed services
  • We do not take commission or referral fees from vendors
  • We do not promise availability, uptime or recovery-time figures
  • We do not operate your servers on your behalf
  • We do not claim certifications, partnerships or accreditations on this site

How it fits together

Assessment first, everything else after

Most engagements begin with an operations maturity assessment, because it produces the evidence the later work depends on. Roadmaps, framework design and technical strategy follow from those findings rather than from a template.

A roadmap built before the assessment is a guess. If you already have assessment findings, we can start from them instead.
